If fishing in very snaggy water then sometimes you need to utilize a rotten bottom set up.This can be adapted into any of your other rigs

This allows you the safety of being able to cast whilst at the same time as having a weak link attached to your weight.

Buy one of the rotten bottom setups from the likes of gemini or cascade, when it is attached to your normal link clip, you tie 6" of 10 pound BS line to the link and to the weight itself.

If the weight gets snagged and you pull the collar slides up the link and releases the weight just attached now by the 10 pound line, its now a relatively easy job to break the weaker line and allow you to retrieve your rig and hopefully the fish on the end of it,its better to lose just the weight than the whole rig and possibly a hooked fish.
