From in front of the Albert dock (with it on your right) head along Wapping until the road takes a sharp left bend (at the junction of Upper parliament street), there is a junction here to the right take that onto Sefton street. Follow this for 2.5 miles till you see the Britannia pub on the right, this is the start of otterspool, you can park in the pub car park or carry on down riverside drive to park in one of the other car parks dotted along it. people do park on the promenade itself for security though you may be told to move it

Otterspool is another very popular mark on the mersey again due to easy access that it affords. Only fishable on small to medium tides due to the force of the water pushing through with the ebb being worse than the flood Mainly fished through the winter months you can expect to catch cod, whiting, dabs, eels, sole, flounder and occasional dogfish Lug and mackerel are the main baits used here and a short cast is all that is needed. It can be quite snaggy here especially round the Britannia so expect some tackle loss. Because you are fishing from a comfortable promenade with rails along it is ideal for the lass sprightly of us,the disabled or with those wanting to bring children.
